How to split a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF into the box above, or choose it from your device.
  2. Choose Extract pages to make one new PDF, or Every page separately to get one PDF per page.
  3. For Extract pages, type the pages to keep, for example 1-3, 7.
  4. Download the new PDF, or the ZIP file with all pages.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded when I split it?
No. PDF-IO splits the file inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
How do I write page ranges?
Separate pages with commas and use a dash for ranges. "1-3, 5" keeps pages 1, 2, 3 and 5. "8-" keeps page 8 to the end. Pages are saved in the order you type them.
Why do I get a ZIP file?
When every page becomes its own PDF, the files are packed into one ZIP so you can download them in one go. Your computer or phone can open ZIP files without extra software.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied unchanged.
